Rachel is always saying the funniest things and we wanted to share some of them with you:
10-16-08 Recently Grandma and Grandpa Banda were in town for Elijah's blessing. Manny (Grandpa Banda) did what Grandparents do...bought Rachel all kinds of candy. They gave her the large bag of candy and said this is for you and your friends. Her very serious reply was, "I'm my friend."
9-14-08 My mom (Arlea) has been here helping us after Elijah was born. We were at church and Mom told Rachel it was time to leave. Her response was, "Grandma I'm not done playing with my friends. You can go ahead and go home...I'll get a ride with my friends." Keep in mind her friends are only 5 & 6.
12-17-07 This morning Rachel was not pleased with her breakfast (Mini Wheats), and I explained that some children had no food and that we needed to be thankful for everything we have. With a concerned look on her face she said, "Mom I have an idea, why don't we give them these mini wheats."
Because the weather has turned cold we decided to get some hot chocolate while running errands. Since Starbucks was close by we decided to give it a try. Rachel really liked it, and last night (11-16-07) she asked if we could go back to HotCocoaBucks. Chad and I were a little puzzled until she expained...you know where we had the yummy hot chocolate the other day.
-This morning (11-05-07) when I handed Rachel her vitamins she dropped one on the floor. She looked at me and said, "Mom, I need another vitamin. This one fell on the floor and I don't want to get dirtyitis."
-Rachel is always thinking of names for her new baby cousins that have been anounced. Just this week driving in the car she has named Aunt Erin's baby...Twinkers and Aunt Dawn's baby Lilac. I think it is an improvement from Swirly which is what she wanted to name her cousin Lucas!
-Once a year the primary children have a program in church. Chad and I talked with her extensively about appropriate reverent behavior while in front of everyone. Overall she did a great job but had a few rough spots. When I asked her what happened she said, "Well Mom, I coudn't be too reverent because then everyone would think I was really cute and want to take me home. I don't want to go home with them."
-Rachel is always rolling her eyes at us when she thinks we are being silly....which happens alot. So in an effort to call her attention to this behavior I told her that rolling her eyes was not very nice. I asked her what her punishment should be, and she replied, "A time out...Bed...A SPANK!" I took her and started kissing her...she doesn't like this. Just to see what she would do I rolled my eyes at her, and she immediately said, "Mom, you rolled your eyes, what do you think your punishment should be?" She raised her hand to me and I said, "Just remember that whatever punishment you give is the punishment you will get." She smiled and said, "Then your punishment is a big Halloween Party!"
